I hear a voice it's deep timbers lifting and falling with each word.

He reaches up into the cupboard and pulls a mug off of the top shelf near the back.

I had to stretch upon the tips of my toes to put it there, he barely rises from the ground.

My breath catches as I take note and realisation dawns, this is my son.

He grows more and more every day, day after day.

I see the boy inside the teenager, and hints of the man still to come.

The tears threaten as I exhale.

This is my son and all he did to trigger this emotional post is ask for hot cocoa.
